StudentTechies was inspired by the belief that today's 18-25 year-old
can offer very useful skills at temp agency rates starting as low as $18 per hour.
We are recruiting tech-skilled students (many with certifications from
Microsoft, Sun, Cisco and others) and recent grads from UVA,
GWU, GMU, VCU, UR, and several other Virginia colleges to go on assignments in
their area.
Founded in the fall of 2000 by Paul
Doherty, StudentTechies has averaged over $20,000 per month in revenues for clients like General Electric, Lexis-Nexis, PRA International, and University of Virginia, in applications and languages as complex as C#, Oracle
and Java.
Places like GE call us whenever they need
extra help for things like deploying and networking PCs, responding to spikes in internal users' requests for desk-side
help (as low as $18 per hour final billing rates), and web development work in things as complex as Oracle and Java Server Pages ($20 per
hour). Aside from the last minute help we give them, we can schedule a rotation of students (some with M-W-F availability, others with
Tues-Thurs availability, either half-days or full) and recent grads
and night students with more business-hour availability. They love that they are keeping costs variable and low, and getting a first look at potential full-timers of the future.

We have students taking 3 to 15 credit hours who are looking for part-time work, and we have recent grads and not-so-recent grads with full-time availability. For higher-volume assignments, we can deliver student techies for as low as $18 per hour.

Network your home or office - Our student techies can build a LAN for you, connecting all of your machines, complete with your choice of: file, print, database, email, and web servers. We can snake and terminate the cabling and route DSL, cable modem, and other connections to multiple machines. Let us network your home or office at installation rates as low as $25 per hour. We also have teams of students who can perform PC upgrades after-hours in offices with hundreds of PCs.
We operate much like a temp agency: identifying, testing, reference-checking, recruiting, scheduling, payrolling, providing policy orientation to, and insuring contract workers (replacing and augmenting if necessary) to suit your needs. (For long-term jobs, see our standard contract.)
